Colleagues in Nairobi, Kenya, planted trees to celebrate the new DuPont.
DuPont de Nemours Inc. launched on June 1, 2020, marking the beginning of a new strategic vision for DuPont specialty products businesses and employees. On Monday, DuPont sites around the world celebrated the new company by highlighting our core values and showcasing the rich cultures and diversity of our global community.
In Asturias, Spain, employees came to work wearing white to symbolize a new beginning. The celebration in Taiwan included a four-site cycling tour. Employees planted trees in several locations, including Madurai, India; Berazategui, Argentina; and Shenzhen, China. The celebration at the Marlborough, Massachusetts site featured an old-fashioned outdoor barbecue. At the Larkin Complex in Midland, Michigan, employees celebrated with the help of an all-employee band.
As they did at several other sites, colleagues in Nairobi celebrated on June 3 with a hand printing activity and celebratory cake, after which they gathered to tune in to the global town hall. But they weren’t done. The celebration continued the next day with a tree planting at a nearby endangered forest. Similarly, colleagues in Istanbul, Turkey planted a tree in Nezahat Gokyigit Botanical Garden to demonstrate their commitment to creating a better now.
The celebration in Karachi, Pakistan featured colleagues coming to work (for the first time in DuPont Pakistan history) dressed in traditional local wardrobe, suggesting that, while all should celebrate together, they should feel free also to celebrate in their own, individual ways. Switzerland sites Meyrin and Le Grand-Saconnex were decked in gleaming red and white, the colors of the Swiss flag. The festivities kicked off with a speech by the site leader, followed by a group photo, celebratory cake cutting, and an energetic party outside.
