Ed Breen was recognized at the 2018 Catalyst Awards Dinner held on March 20 for DuPont's innovative corporate initiatives that strive to create change for women in the workplace.

"The 2018 Catalyst Award winners have done an outstanding job in promoting an inclusive work environment where women can thrive, and I applaud the efforts of these companies," Ed said. "These companies set the bar higher for all of us and are an example of what we can achieve by creating programs that provide an equal opportunity for women to succeed."

For more than 30 years, Catalyst has recognized transformational leadership efforts that accelerate progress for women. With the theme "Workplaces That Work for Women," the 2018 Catalyst Awards dinner brought together more than 2,000 attendees, including the Catalyst CEO Champions For Change leaders and executives from top global corporations, professional firms, government, NGOs and educational institutions.

"It was wonderful having new leaders from future DuPont and Corteva Agriscience™ to experience a night celebrating organizations which are successfully advancing women in the workplace and to be able to connect with these role models," said Lydia Mallett, Director of Global Talent Acquisition and Organizational Vibrancy.

Last year, Ed and more than 50 CEOs pledged to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace by implementing actions such as:

Working to accelerate progress in the representation of women, including women of color, in executive/senior level positions and on boards over five years.

Benchmarking and tracking inclusion and improving the culture of inclusion within organizations.

Actively sponsoring women, including women of color.

Openly sharing best practices and learnings among companies to drive positive change and improve diversity and inclusion.

To keep the diversity and inclusion momentum going, DuPont has prioritized several other initiatives, including requiring diverse slates of candidates for positions and sponsoring the Women's Leadership Development Program.

In referring to the CEO Champions For Change, Deborah Gillis, President & CEO of Catalyst noted that this group of CEOs is, "a passionate group of change agents and champions of gender equality and inclusion who are taking bold action by holding themselves publicly accountable for doing the right thing and inspiring all of us to do more when it comes to advancing more women into all levels of leadership."
