In November 2020, seven employees from our ICS Dongguan, China site made a three-hour car trip to a primary school in Xinfeng County, a low-income region in a remote mountain area of Central-West China, to make a positive impact on the community. Their mission included delivering 30 school uniforms to students aged 6–8, and 10 uniforms to teachers. The team also donated two rice cookers, three electric fans, and a disinfecting dishwasher to the community in which the school is located.

DuPont volunteers also donated their knowledge and expertise by leading a class at the school, during which they shared pictures of DuPont materials and technology and explained how each of the products contributes to the building of a better world. This part of the visit was aimed at promoting interest in science among these primary school children.

The visit to Xinfeng County was arranged by the nonprofit China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, whose mission includes sharing information about businesses in the country. Taking the time to bring STEM education and scholastic resources to remote villages helps to demonstrate DuPont’s commitment to community impact and to increase brand awareness.
