According to a recent survey conducted by the Vietnam Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, polluted local water sources led to 9,000 annual deaths in Vietnam and nearly 250,000 cases of severe diarrhea. DuPont Water Solutions saw this as an opportunity to make a real difference, and partnered with Coca-Cola Vietnam and the country’s Center for Family Health and Community Development to achieve this.

The "Clean Drinking Water for Hanoi” project, funded by DuPont and Coca-Cola, launched in early 2020 and resulted in 10 newly installed drinking water filtration systems in public locations in Hanoi, the country’s capital. The systems use our advanced reverse osmosis (RO) technology, which draws water from the city's water sources and filters it into drinking water directly for residents. Each system is capable of filtering 80 liters per hour.

This project will provide greater access to clean water for the residents of Hanoi and will also help educate people about the importance of clean and safe drinking water. Together with Coca-Cola, we will continue to support the operation and maintenance of water purifier systems until the first quarter of 2021, before handing over to local management.
