Tasks that can produce an electrical shock are a health hazard we take seriously, in line with our core value of health and safety. In 2020, to avoid the risk of people receiving electric shocks from high-voltage electrical equipment, our Electronics & Imaging site in Dayuan, Taiwan, completed a project to upgrade the high-voltage switchgear around its four main gas circuit breakers. This project has the added benefit of doubling the reliability of the plant’s electricity consumption.
The existing protection relays will be converted to a multi-functional smart system that will immediately correct any continuity issues and ensure high accuracy and strong functionality. The new system will also have dynamic meters that will monitor key performance measures to improve the system’s stability.

Maintaining a safe and healthy environment
In July 2020, our Electronics & Imaging Interconnect Solutions (E&I ICS) site in Dongguan, China, celebrated the important milestone of reaching five years without a recordable injury for employees, and one year for contractors. The site also celebrated having no positive COVID-19 cases, despite hosting 179 essential workers on site.
Improving fire safety in buildings
DuPont Tyvek® FireCurb® is used on the outside of buildings and has been on the market for over a decade. It uses our patented halogen-free self-extinguishing technology which is designed to stop flames at the membrane and snuff them out.
