In August 2020, our Electronics & Industrial Interconnect Solutions (ICS) manufacturing site in Zhangjiagang, China, achieved nine years with zero recordable injuries for both employees and contractors, and no COVID-19 infections for employees and contractors. This exceptional performance shows how continuous improvement on safety knowledge and awareness, adherence to operational disciplines, and hazard recognition and mitigation skills have become the cornerstone of our environmental, health and safety (EHS) culture at the site.

Around the same time, our Zhangjiagang site received sponsorship from the city safety bureau to lead a safety seminar for ten neighboring chemical companies and about 100 officials from the city’s Municipal Safety Committee. During the half-day workshop, our site leader at Zhangjiagang trained local companies on specific topics such as how to conduct field assessments and identify key areas of improvement.

During the holidays, most employees and their families and children spent more time at home. EHS leaders at the site extended ongoing wellbeing efforts to employees’ family members by providing them with anti-virus essentials and encouraging them to take part in a remote drawing contest of “hand safety” as one of the DuPont monthly themes. The activity was something the families could do together at home and was warmly received.
